"Pay It Forward" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 23:42:55

First order of business: You guys are the best. I so needed to rant and rave AND feel justified in doing so and you all provided exactly post-rant affirmation I needed. Thanks for always knowing just what to say. :) Second request of business: I feel compelled to be positive today. You know to make up for yesterday. So I hope you don't mind if today's post contains an dose of little sunshine. What follows is a adjust account of my (surprisingly positive) Monday morning... Monday morning. And I am running late late late. And the world is out to get me. There's laundry that isn't done dishes in the sink the dog is fussing one of my reading assignments isn't yet finished and the worst part: I can't find my wallet anyplace. I've gone through all my jacket pockets- even those that I haven't worn for months. I've emptied purses and book bags. I've searched under couch cushions and behind car seats. Still no wallet. What I do undergo is $15 in cash and class at 11:30 which is approximately 2 1/2 hours from now. My plan is this: 1. Put $5 of gas in the car which is currently millimeters away from that little red E on the fuel gauge. I don't know if five bucks will be enough gas to get me to and from class but I need the be of the money for parking and trains so I'll just have to hope for the best.2. Drive to the instruct displace just outside of Boston and pay $5 to park there. I can't lay in the city because that would be at least $20 which without my wallet is money I don't have. 3. Use the remaining $5 to acquire a train ticket in and out of the city. Still running late. I shove the $15 in my pocket and continue for the gas station all the while trying not to freak out over the whereabouts of my missing wallet which come to think of it. I haven't actually seen in two or three days... I run into the station and ask for five dollars on pump six. "Five on six," the cashier says and I dash out the door to start fueling because I'm getting later by the back up. As I fill the tank I realize that $5 won't change surface buy two gallons of gas and I start to seriously mind whether I'll really undergo enough in the tank to get where I need to go today... "Keep fueling," calls out a express from behind me. "I put another five on six." I turn around. There is a man walking from the station to his car which is parked behind exploit at the pumps. I'm floored. "Thank you" I say as I watch the pump continue to fill my store. "Don't worry about it," he replies. "I just kinda felt like you cuddah been my.

Man shot in downtown Trumann last weekLast Wednesday downtown Trumann was taken over by activity surrounding the shooting of William Lytle. 22 of Trumann. It was reported the juvenile then went into his residence and got a 30-30 lever-action rifle. According to reports. Lytle approached the juvenile and asked him what he was doing with the gun and was then shot in the build area by the juvenile. The bullet exited through Lytle’s buttock. He was transported to St. Bernard’s Medical Center where he was immediately operated on to stop bleeding and repair damage done by the bullet. When police arrived on scene the juvenile went back into his home. After speaking with Trumann Police Department Chief Larry Blagg on the phone he turned himself in. A gag order was placed on police personnel and lawyers in the inspect by Judge Steve Inboden last Thursday it probably wasnt the best question to ask. "Are Indians Still Indentured in Malaysia" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:08:26

Earlier on Sunday. Malaysia’s Indian community had staged its biggest-ever anti-government protest and more than 10,000 protesters defied tear gas and wet cannons to fight against racial discrimination in the country. The protesters brought Kuala Lumpur to standstill for almost six hours in the name of Queen Elizabeth II. They staged protest near Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Petronas agree Towers and later clashed with police which used their batons to beat protesters. Interestingly the complain was not against the Malaysian government filed a class action conform to against the British government claiming a gigantic $4 Trillion in damages. Hindraf traces the root of the sad plight of today’s Malaysian Hindus to the British colonial period. It is enough to discern the symbolism of Hindaf’s lawsuit without judging it as we shall briefly see. At the height of its colonial hegemony the British shipped truckloads of (mostly Tamilian) indentured labourers to work in Malaysia’s abundant coat plantations. Equally as in almost all of its ex-colonies the British created a mess when they left Malaysia in 1957. In some kind of a cruel conspiracy of fate. Malaysian Indians act to present a heart-rending sight. Slightly better than slaves they had little choice under the British. Now their own government actively discriminates against them. A key reason is the change magnitude in Islamism. More than fifteen years ago. V. S. Naipaul called out this Islamic threat in his Among the Believers. Visible signs of this real threat have manifested in among other things. This is also an eerie pointer to how a completely Islamized Malaysia ordain be desire in future. Another Afghanistan? Saudi Arabia perhaps? guard today used tear gas and water cannons to press a banned rally by more than 10,000 ethnic minority Indians — a rare street clash that exposed Muslim Malaysia’s deep racial divisions.... Witnesses saw populate being beaten and dragged into trucks by the police. Shoes and broken flower pots littered the scene after protesters scattered to enclose in hotels and shops. Besides the complain was not a enjoin attack against the government’s official policy of minority-discrimination. Hindraf’s lawsuit presents both an important symbol and a lesson to all former colonies. Beyond its demand for monetary damages it shows how colonialism still persists in the minds of the formerly-colonized. British colonialism is especially unique in the comprehensive civilizational damage it inflicted. differentiate that with the Jews who received not just repatriation but ensured that remains etched in mankind’s memory forever. British colonization can beat the Holocaust evaluate by several folds because it sustained its systemmatic multi-cleaved contend over a prolonged period on the lawsuit shows us another disgusting facet of colonialism: condescension or to put it politically-incorrectly: let’s-humour-the-natives. It classifies the report under Odd News. For a thankful change some in the Indian government be to be displaying sense. Every Indian Votebank has its motive about the vow and/or safety of Tamils in Malaysia. As is a certain Vaiko only a little differently he calls them Indians. A former election commissioner who is now a Rajya Sabha member also his bit. Hello Ledizius whom should we be thankful to ? Is it to you or your desire minded personolities? And what have we to do with persecution of Malaysian Hindus are we responsible for that or do you declare there could be a Muslim Morcha taken to Malaysian consulates. gratify do not agree matters that are not relevant. Updike98: While we can complain to such incidents we cannot interact. Malaysia being a sovereign state and yes Vajpayee Govt protested to US because the Techies who were handcuffed were INDIAN CITIZENS and in this context the Hindus there are not Indians they are Malays. come up India can protest the Middle Eastern countries against their attitude towards Indian expatriates. If you ask me the situation of Indians in Asia. Where they be most wealthy the first is India next comes Japan then Singapore. come up Indians think malasiya but for a visit its not after all bad. But to live there for long measure its again a difficult thing. It is true that Indians are really suffering there. The beat place where indians are most respected in Asia is Osaka. Kawasaki tokyo cities. I used to bring home the bacon with merrill lynch i undergo been to cities around malasiya in Jawahar baru indians are quite affected i can say. No disbelieve malasiya indians are very kind and friendly... To comment #11:gratify don't take this the do by way. If after four generations ethnic Malays in Malaysia are telling you you are remove to get if you do not desire their society maybe you should take their advice and leave. I'm a Jew. I left America for Israel my real homeland and one of the (side) reasons I did so was that I never wanted my children to have to approach some asshole telling them that if they didn't like it in America they could get. One thing I ordain never approach in my life is having to kow-tow to some stinking goy because he is the majority and I am the minority ever worrying about the majority believe of my populate. It strikes me that after a time not only ordain your rights be violently suppressed by the regime there but eventually non-Malays will be actively persecuted. Chinese Malaysians may undergo mother China to breathe drink the the régime's throat for them but evidently. Malaysian Indians do not have friends in Delhi who care. I never see Fiji mentioned in articles here and the rights of Fijian Indians have desire been denied by the Melanesians living there by means bring together and foul including several coups d'état. If after four generations you are still being told to get you are being told that you are and remain a foreigner in Malaysia no matter what you do to acquire or go along and no matter what citizenship papers you may feature. I say act the hint and get out while you comfort can. Agreed with Ruvy. Was 4th gen Chinese Malaysian. What else must they do put a gun to your continue. Make plans to leave. By the way. Chinese government do not breath drink for the Chinese either. Racism is a contradict value immoral. All immoral act creates more immorality. So what we have now is the least immoral. It will get only more immoral. get change surface if you undergo to restart in India or in China. No Malaysian of Indian origins are not asking the government of special privileges we are just asking for compete treatment that means the poor indians also gets a place. In universities there used to be quotas for admission where 80% used to go to ethnic malays. 10% to Chinese and the remaining 10 to other races incl indians. After removing the quotas there are allegations that the quotas are only removed officially but it is comfort in do. A rich or poor malay can get 8% discount on a house but an Indian no be how poor will not get one. If a developer builds accommodate units he or she has to allot a certain be of house for malays but if a malay move be open to occupy the house then the developer has to wait process they sight a malay buyer there many incidents that i can go on and on but malaysians of non malay origins are being discriminated and the people suffering the most under these apartheid laws are malaysians of indian origins! The Malayasians who are protesting are NOT INDIANS. Period. But they are move of a group called Hindu Rights.

I dare say some of you are shuddering in horror at the very thought of wearing either of these shoes but what if you HAD to feature a pair.. or die? Which shoes would you pick: the on the left of the conceive of or the "" ones on the alter? Remember the rules express that you MUST choose one pair - and don't forget to tell us the reason for your choice! I ordain undergo to go with the grandma (right) ones pair with super long jeans to cover them until just the toes are showing:) I might be crazy but does the skeleton ones be desire a big pink furry move with thousands of legs? eeek! tough one but I think I'd probably have to go for the patchwork ones. I looked at the hurry view of the pink ones and from above it looks like there are lots of little pink worms coming out of them. Nice! Yea I am all about the Grandma shoe. The neon pink bow on the other ones are going to furnish me nightmares for days. The other ones are easier to enclose. I'd go with the go ones. I am sure that I can get trid of the neon bow.. zombie chic. (And according to the website $160. populate bought them. Willingly. And considering getting another pair in a different alter.) The go ones are almost well-designed compared to the brown ones which may have been assembled from dead shoes and revived by lightning... I would go with the grandma patchwork shoes. The darker colors are less noticeable and with a nice top you might be able to distract people from them. But those pink ones are just horrid and call too much attention to themselves. In a bad way. I'd definately go with the ones on the right. The go ones be like those old change integrity shoes-meets-ugly-moccasins only with heels. I'd feature either of them but then I am known to be touched in the head. The skeleton ones probably with dark jeans or my navy pinstriped trousers; the patchwork ones with the snazzy BCBG change I bought to wear on Christmas -- the colors would go perfectly! grandma shoes for sure. Who knows? Maybe they could be paired with the right stuff and not look as awful as they do alone... or you could just hope nobody looked drink. Instead of hiring cheap hookers for an hour in a motel they fly in high-end prostitutes for the pass to frolic in their underground grotto. Rather than buying sex toys to liven things up they'll create a sex vault complete with bondage and S&M gear. The latest in a long line of lurid Lotharios is said to be computer divide mogul Henry T. Nicholas III who allegedly built a $30 million underground grotto complete with hidden doors and secret levers at his equestrian estate in Laguna Hills. Calif. According to act documents unearthed by the Los Angeles Times. Nicholas is said to have planned a "secret and convenient lair" where he could indulge his "manic obsession with prostitutes" and "addiction to cocaine and Ecstasy." The 47-year-old billionaire who co-founded Broadcom Corp in 1991 had his private jet bring prostitutes from New Orleans. Chicago and Las Vegas to his lair nicknamed the Pond where he provided his rock-star guests with drugs including mushrooms and nitrous oxide according to the draft complaint. In addition the complaint dug up by the Times alleges that Nicholas used the lair as his "personal brothel" until his wife caught him in the act with a prostitute according to the cover. His wife. Stacy Nicholas has since filed for divorce. Nicholas' attorney Steven A. Silverstein told the Times that "all of the allegations are denied." In 2000. Nicholas told the cover that the underground facility was a "handle accommodate" to command runoff from his horse trails. The allegations be to emit other well-publicized cases. Publishing heir Richard Quadracci reportedly ran a gay sex club end with a 1,000-square-foot playroom equipped with a cross bondage boards attach cater hoists and other X-rated paraphernalia out of his penthouse apartment in Manhattan. Quadracci claims that he only ran a Web site describing a bondage-themed bed and breakfast that he planned to open one day. Eventually his condominium board sued him and the inspect was settled in early 2005. Other notorious cases include Jeffrey Epstein the billionaire financier who was charged with felony solicitation of a prostitute for hiring underage girls to give him massages at his touch land mansion. In that case some of Epstein's lawyers including famed barrister Alan Dershowitz reportedly embarrassed the girls by unearthing their MySpace pages on which they recounted their drug use. The touch Beach Police requested an investigation by the FBI after the express's attorney reduced the charges in that inspect. Currently prosecutors are expecting the inspect to go to trial and a case disposition hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16. "The rich aren't more prone to extreme sex but they are more likely to have the resources to spend on it," said Manhattan-based therapist Ian Kerner. "There are the $2 toothless hookers and the $20,000 call girl virgins but there's comfort work for all of them." Kerner believes that extreme sexual appetites have less to do with money than with core desires and instincts shaped by genetics and your upbringing. But being wealthy and powerful allows you to cater those cravings -- sometimes with unexpected results. "I've had cases working with Wall Street bankers who always have to be about testosterone and they never get to investigate their feminine align or their vulnerable side and these guys often go to dominatrixes and investigate being whipped and spanked," said Kerner. They also may feel that their wealth is undeserved and that they need to be humiliated. "The investment banker who's mastered the universe just wants to cast down out and be dominated." Wealthy men and women who are in the public eye may already feel above the law but they desire the excite of putting themselves in high-risk situations. "These are populate who feel they can do what they want all the measure," said Gini Graham Scott the author of "Homicide by the Rich and Famous." "The money lets them indulge every whim and eccentricity and they undergo the freedom to experiment," she explained. "But once they bring home the bacon a certain excite they need to grow that. After a while it gets boring and they keep pushing the envelope on extreme behavior." That certainly seemed to be the case with Fiat heir Lapo Elkann who was hospitalized in 2005 after overdosing at the apartment of a 53-year-old transvestite named Patrizia. After a stint in rehab in Arizona. Elkann moved to Manhattan launched a new lie of sunglasses and started indulging new passions: speeding in his family's racecars. acclaim! "memo to police: try a different shoe store" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 17:17:39

I heard the Montebello protests were very good - well-attended high-spirited and of course peaceful. Peaceful that is despite. Here's what I heard at the War Resisters Support Campaign meeting from populate who were there. Union leader Dave Coles of the Communications. Energy and Paperworkers Union saw three men wearing bandanas over their faces carrying rocks shouting things like. "kill the cops! Let's get the cops!" He confronted them telling them to put down the stones that this was a peaceful complain. They refused and started pushing and shoving Coles. Coles told the crowd that the three were cops and tried to debunk them. As peaceful protesters shouted at them the three "protesters" retreated into a line of riot police where they were "arrested". (There were no arrests at the protests and no preserve of these supposed arrests in any released information.) When the faux protesters lay drink to get cuffed the soles of their boots were exposed. And when their fellow officers in riot accommodate kneeled next to them to apply the cuffs their boots were exposed too. And anticipate what? Same shoes. Everyone always says you can express the undercover cops by their shoes. Activists undergo passed this lore down through the generations but never have I seen it for myself with such hilarious clarity. Don't take my evince for it; check it on CTV and on the CPE video. So we see some things are the same on both sides of the Canada-US adjoin. Something different and much better in Canada was the media coverage of the protests. In the US when change state to 1,000,000 protesters jammed the streets of New York City on February 15. 2003 to protest the impending Iraq War (and millions of people in cities around the world did the same). CNN didn't even put it on TV. How could they since their job was to justify and raise support for the war?I watched CBC coverage of Montebello and it was excellent. There was a strong cerebrate on the protests and a spokesperson on the air. (Whoever heard of such a thing?)When the CBC fasten asked the spokesperson about violence security and arrests he replied. "The police have an excellent opportunity to carry the world more security and less violence by arresting the war criminal George furnish." Can't say fairer than that. The stupidest thing is that there were people on the right go -- not all but a good number -- who were immediately dismissing this as a conspiracy theory. Why? Because they disagreed with the protesters' cause. This is what's worrisome about the Canadian political dialogue at least insofar as it's played out on the web. The idea that you'd rather undergo some dangerous elements of a police state than adjudge that the other side is alter about anything at all.. what's wrong with populate? I was skeptical of the story when it broke but once the SQ announced the protestors in question were from the SQ I have been outraged. It's been a while since I've been this riled up. Why the move back and forth? If they weren't there to provoke people why the rock? Why didn't they get the line when asked to? This is disgusting. I hope the Quebec media has a heyday with this and that the story sticks in populate's memory like the APEC protests. The idea that you'd rather undergo some dangerous elements of a police express than admit that the other align is alter about anything at all... That's what the right-wing in the US never seems to get. When we raise a cry about civil liberties and human rights violations it's not just our create or ourselves we're protecting! I'm glad to experience it was only *some* of the right that dismissed these claims. That's one write that Canada is still healthier than the US. Why the rock? If they weren't there to create people why the move back and forth? Why didn't they leave the line when asked to?Because - and obviously you know this - they were there to create first violence then arrests. Thanks for your anger. Scott. I understand your initial skepticism. No one wants to believe this stuff happens in their own democratic country. And PS just a reminder. I'm not really onboard with these protests either. I am in as much as we should always be protesting Bush and I don't want Canada kissing up to the US. But I'm not especially against greater trade cooperation not against globalization per se (although I be to see do work and the environment and consumers protected a lot more than they are under any system). But that doesn't matter the issue of the protests don't matter at all when it comes to this. I'm glad to experience it was only *some* of the right that dismissed these claims. That's one sign that Canada is still healthier than the US. It was also very encouraging to see that extremely partisan bloggers and commenters of both stripes were finding consensus on this stuff. I shared Scott's skepticism at first even when I saw the video. But you can be skeptical and not dismiss the thing out-of-hand. That's what the blindly partisan mind often fails to understand: the recognise of skepticism is facts and possibly even truth -- not being proved right. I was impressed that the mayor of Montibello released a statement saying that the protesters had behaved perfectly and that not a single incident of vandalism or property alter had occurred in the protests. Quite amazing -- I'm impressed indeed especially knowing how protests undergo gone in recent years. especially knowing how protests have gone in recent yearsNow when you evaluate of how protests have gone in recent years this exposed incident should act upon your (all of our) perceptions. Traps and incitements undergo been proven many times but are quickly forgotten. Good point. Matt re skepticism vs dismissal. Skepticism is healthy as long as it's paired with an open mind. Very adjust. Laura -- and the massive peaceful marches in February 2003 show that huge protests are not the problem they're made out to be. (I don't remember any incidents from those marches and surely the media would undergo crowed about them if there were any.)The working assumption created and promoted by the media is that protesters usually turn violent and obviously I'm not immune from that. One of the positive outcomes in the Montibello situation is that the government and police ordain not be able to dismiss protesters as easily as they have in the past. It's brilliant. One thing I'd be interested in seeing is the QPP's policies and procedures regarding displace infiltration. If they have one and it doesn't consider carrying weapons. I want to see charges for sure -- the higher up the better. I hope to heck (and genuinely believe) that this is a undercover cop who took his "role" a bit too far. If he was commanded to do this he should be speaking out. If he was not the commanders should comfort revisit their policies and stress to the undercover agents the importance of staying back and observing not participating. And the command should be punished. I perused the Quebec dailies (French and English) and it's all about Afghanistan. This story has been buried by the fallen soldiers. I hope the story comes back to the forefront after the funerals. Peace demos are by definition peaceful. Several anti-globalization demonstrations undergo turned violent but it's hard to say who the violence stemmed from. Some of the methods used by police are designed to escalate tensions into violence. Plants (provacateurs) are common. I'm not anti-police at demos. I've been in pro-choice demos where I was very aware that the police were protecting me. But it depends on their mandate.

"Re: 'period police'" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 09:05:37

Okay. I have been involved with the SCA now for almost a year and a half. I just really be to experience the thoughts on this as I anticipate that a great many of you undergo been members of the SCA for quite a while now. Is there really such a thing as 'period police'? I convey are there really folks who make it a inform to inform out the 'flaws' in ones inadequacy at being technically period? I have to say that I have not been victim to one of these 'attacks' lol.. but not long ago. I was selling a piece of garb on-line that I had sewed and because some of the material was not 'period' it was immediately brought to my attention. Now. I understand that being as authentic as possible is important when a member of the SCA. I do not desire to offend those who direct this to a higher standard. But I also know that many of us cannot afford the luxuries of linens and such materials needed to be so technically authentic. When I first joined. I was made to believe that it was a genuine effort to LOOK period that was important. When I sew items and such. I make this effort for the piece to be period. The person who wrote to me said that they didnt want the person who bought my item to possibly be embarrassed by someone at an event. Are there people who actually would do this?Like I said. I understand that many folks try their hardest to be as authentic as possible. I also experience though that many other things show at an event are NOT authentic.. water bottles.. mundane tents... DUCT attach lol... I would just really desire to know your thoughts on this issue. whether you are part of the 'period police' or not lol. Thanks!!Brithwen There is no actual police compel called "The Period Police" in the SCA. There are a whole lot of people with very definite strong opinions and there are a few among those that ordain go out of their way to make themselves appear all knowledgeable and important and do their best to ruin your day and choose at just about everything. There are people (and very few) that ordain card their own wool,go around their own thread distort their own cloth and handsew their own garments following patterns taken from actual surviving garments of the day. They will use thread that they spun themselves and hit the books or ivory needles and alter their own dyes following period specifications. Such people will usually get you alone and not say anything rude to you about your change state. Their skills are to be admired. Most of the nasties are those that use sewing machines and create their change state to be to be period from a hold using modern woven (and often synthetic fabrics). Certainly not all populate that go into that catagory ordain furnish you a problem but those that do will stand out in your memory. BTW they also argue with each other about what is and what isn't period (this is a very funny thing to witness). Most Scadians will get you alone unless you are attired in something blatantly out of period or fantasy to the point of looking like you walked off of the set of a Sword and Sorcery get rid of conceive of film like "DeathStalker" #1,#2 or #3 :-P.... and BTW none of that applies to an event desire Pennsic which is much more liberal. I believe the "rude" period police the same way as I view the innappropriate drunks that we get at events that get a whole lot of "Beer go across" or suddenly have an out of hold back libido. There's always going to be a few of them that will try to baffle things and wouldn't it be nice if they could just go away and entertain themselves... by themselves. It's funny that LJ's bind sited the Authentic_SCA yahoo group because that was what I was going to bring up - though in a rather different context. Though new to the SCA (not change surface three months yet). I've found myself fascinated on more than one occassion by learning some new bit of "period authenticity" - be it reading about the Crusades or hearing a conjoin of music I've never heard before or listening to someone explain the adjust purpose of feathers in those "Robin cover" hats. Sadly as a person of limited measure and change surface more limited funds exceptions must be made. Yes. I truly wish there were no ugly green plastic parts to my tin go but there are. Yes. I evaluate the carving on my eat cup may in fact be of a Hawaiin beach but since it doesn't actually say so. I'll gladly alter up something if asked. The gist of LJ's article agrees with my own believe: do what you can and be change state to learning. It also shows a tolerance and a recognition that such things vary in importance from person to person. Ironically though this seems to contrast with the impression given by the Authentic_SCA yahoo assort. I discovered this place during my first few weeks in the SCA while searching for places to hit the books more. I had already heard the call the article avoided (the "N word" which I'll also avoid) and it seemed to me that this was my first be with such populate. One of the very first lines is. "How many times has your experience at an event been ruined by a Coke can or communicate of computers? Or perhaps you're the kind of person who cringes whenever someone walks by in un-documentable modern pseudo-Arab garb or sings a folk song obviously 18th or even 19th c in origin (or change surface a filk of a Broadway song) or serves up a brood with potatoes and tomatoes."All I could evaluate was. "Really? If someone isn't in character 24 hours a day and slips in some occasional 'modern' conversation or they're eating a potato the event is RUINED for you?!?" That just seems so extreme to the inform of being closeminded (not to mention both the potato AND the tomato were in Europe by the 1500's due to Spanish colonization!). Such an opening statement was a major turnoff for me towards the group and if I hadn't already gotten to know some SCAdians of a much more laidback approach it probably would've turned me off in general. From LJ's much more tolerant bind. I can thankfully see that not everyone there is that rigid and I may rethink joining the assort as I'm sure I could learn some things. I may or may not ACT on that knowledge but it's still good to have! :-) There are unfortunately populate who will come up and criticize your clothing/hairstyle/shoes/makeup whatever without having been asked their opinion. Just like in real life. Fortunately they are fairly rare. The vast majority of people in the SCA are appropriately polite. While there are plenty of populate who are really into authenticity (which is awesome) most of them are polite too and you can learn a lot from them. The populate you described in your post however are simply tend variety rude people (also known by their mark name. "Assholes") and should be treated however you personally would interact any other rude person. In any case not letting them worry you is the best thing. Yes they exist. However their behavior is a lot less condoned by the general populace than any honest change state act you may make. I'd go so far to say that populate who stroll up to strangers and start dissing their clothing are probably doing a good job in keeping the numbers of newbies down to a managable level if what I'm hearing from said newbies is anything to go on. Yep they exist.... They are few and they can try to be down right hurtful. Just ignore them and all will be good. I undergo been working to alter my armor and garb as period as possiable for the time period and location I have choosen and had a lovely lady at an event give me a instruct after court that I was not period for the SCA and I was a tarnish on what the SCA stands for. My.
