"Do You Wonder How We Decide Which Missing People Stories to Do?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 21:12:25

I have a few minutes before our next forbid in Bolingbrook and noticed this article (see below.) This is a story that ON THE preserve has done several times…and maybe even ON THE RECORD started the national attention to it which in turn helps generate tips and clues. How did we hit the books about it?? Here is how: I got an telecommunicate from a friend of Kyle’s asking us to do it…so we did it. I don’t know the friend - the friend simply reached out to us. I desire we could back up every family but we can’t and it really is the luck of the draw which stories we act. We experience nothing about the missing people until we accept to do the story. I got the random email forwarded it to my executive producer in NYC who then assigned it to a producer in NYC and voila! It is easier for us to do these when we get these emails from friends since the friends are willing to help us help the family — by providing guests pictures video etc. Now let’s hope some good news ordain be generated from all the attention.. More than 33,000 populate undergo joined a Facebook com group searching for a missing North Carolina man measure seen on Nov. 9 leaving a Charlotte bar. A friend created the “back up sight Kyle Fleischmann” group after the 2005 Elon University graduate disappeared. The 24-year-old Charlotte man was last seen at 2:20 a m on Nov. 9 leaving the Buckhead Saloon according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Activity on his cell phone ended around 4 a m. Nearly 34,000 people had joined the Facebook place as of Friday. It lists information about Fleischmann’s last known whereabouts. The 6-foot. 180-pound man with color eyes and brown hair was last seen wearing a color T-shirt jeans and black change shoes. “gratify send this on to anyone who may know Kyle or especially anyone in the greater Charlotte area so they can share this information with their friends and family,” the Facebook site said. “gratify invite others to the assort and help spread the evince as far as possible.” Richard Fleischmann said his son usually stays in comprehend with his family and that his mother is scheduled for surgery. The create says not hearing from Kyle under these circumstances is troublesome. Noelle Fleischmann told FOX News her brother called her at 2:20 a m after leaving the bar but did not leave a communicate. She didn’t see the missed call until the morning. He also called two of his friends at 3:30 a m that same morning but again didn’t get a message she said. “There is absolutely no reason for him to up and get,” she told FOX News. “It is completely unlike him.” However the determination is made. American journalism and the peoples’ right to experience is enhanced! While the other networks are covering things that are important to some what you show has import for all us. This concerns the children daughters sisters and extended families of our collective “neighbors”. We learn a lot from the investigations you “air”. And what we hit the books are in many cases invaluable lessons. Keep on doing what you’re doing. Greta. For with your hard bring home the bacon and GRETAWIRE you are establishing an “American Community” that has never been seen before. Is it me or is it really odd that this is the 3rd young man to go missing in a southern state in a week to 10 days?? First there was the Alabama (grandson of the Senator) then the young man from Georgia (who also went missing late night from a bar) and now this one from North Carolina? Very odd to me. I wish their families get some resolution and peace of mind soon. My prayers are with their families. I know the Senator’s Grandson was found deceased. I pray the other two go domiciliate soon. God Bless them all and their families. “From the years 2000 through 2006. 5,864,158 Americans vanished. Of all of those populate. 3/4 were children… It is very hard from one person to cover them all. I know it is heart breaking but if just one person is open for that persons effort it is worth reporting it.. As i undergo said before i know you move cover all the cases of missing or murdered populate but am glad you do what you can. It is so painful to undergo a loved one murdred and not experience who did it. measure week some peace came over me because i undergo been in such hurt after my sister was murdered and almost 11 years later we dont know who did it but Greta knowing who would not alter the pain go away. I have to beleave this because if not the anger and pain well keep destroying my life……………………. Blessed in Austin A lot of people I talk to on the Theresa Parker communicate undergo ask why some stories obtain more media attention than others. In the beginning the media set up dwell in the small town of Lafayette Ga the story is very similar to this Peterson inspect with the husband Sgt. Sam Parker being the only POI,and was a Sgt for 26 years. Very soon a lot of the details of the case pointed to possible adjoin ups and involved another officer being arrested for giving false info and tampering with evidence in the case of Theresa Parkers disappearance almost immediately the DA ask to be removed from the inspect to forbid any questions as he personally knew Parker. The new DA immediately impossed a gag order and soon as little to no info was coming out ,the media packed up and left. 8 months undergo passed and Theresa is still missing the measure public known activity was in early September when Martin alter and his english springer spaniel Eddie visited Lafayette for a new phase of the investigation. The results of those searches remain to be known. Hoping that Kyle. Stacy. Theresa and the countless other missing are soon located and these families can have the peace that comes with knowledge however little that may be. Greta. I have often wondered how you decide which stories to do. Some of them are easy to figure out. Laci Peterson. Jessie Davis and the like. There are so many people who go missing that there’s no possible way to adjoin all of them. I have read in the past that the media discriminate on these stories but I do not accept that to be the case. As you stated family and friends undergo to be willing to share their story and have the drive to bring it to the media. It’s hard enough dealing with a loved one who is missing add to that the compel of the camera it’s no wonder some stories aren’t heard. An hour away from where I be a 12 year old boy has been missing since Nov 1st. I don’t hear as much on this local case as I do on other cases around the country. I’ll leave a link from today’s paper incase anyone is interested it’s kind of sad. Hi Greta. Thanks for covering this story…I can imagine it’s hard to adjoin every story that gets sent to you. This is definitely front page news here in Charlotte. Everyone is praying for Kyle’s safe return. I don’t know him or any of the other people we learn about that are missing but I do know that there are prayers going up for every hit one of them…praying for their safe return to their friends and families. This story is so sad Greta. I have been praying for him and his family. He seems like a normal kid that made a few stupid decisions and it may undergo cost him his life. I would cover as many missing populate as possible these families need help and PR. Was nice to see.

"Celebrating 2 years and 60k miles. Pics of the journey and ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:29:01

This affix is two days early but I figured I'd do it now. Some of you may bequeath the last year post so the first year ordain be a repeat for you. feature with me please on this highly self-indulgent post!On Saturday. September 3rd. 2005. I purchased my C6. It had 7502 miles on the odometer and I picked it up from Oasis Chevrolet in New Jersey. It was love at first sight and I had all of Labor Day Weekend to play! The car was an August/September 2004 create approximately 1100. Here is the first enter I took of it: After a few weeks with the ride my dad came up for a visit. I let him control it of cover. He had a 71 Stingray back when he was at USNA so history somewhat repeated itself. I fixed the N in USNA to an M though. Here we are: I found the Corvetteforum and also the Northeast divide. They were a great group and quite active too. Here's a photo of us meeting along the Hudson Valley: I made it domiciliate eventually for a pass and one morning my dad asked me if he could borrow my C6. I said. "Sure but if you break it you bought it!" Needless to say he was gone the ENTIRE day but he did not break it. I anticipate the love of Corvettes got approve to him too because within weeks he hurt up with a C5 Z06. Our cars instantly became good friends and here they are resting together in the garage: The cars decided they wanted to do a trip to the NC mountains so my dad and I obliged and we made a few trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway and various other twisty roads. Times were good: Eventually the Army pulled me further south to Fort Benning. Georgia for IOBC and all that fun.. this is when the modding began. Up until this point all I had was a custom shifter kick from DSV. First up was a 20% tint and a unify of Grand Sport stripes from Mike at Corvettestripes com. Afterwards my car made an appearance at Corvettes Against Breast Cancer a charity event at Atlanta go Speedway. I met some great people and had a good time. This is my car waiting on pit lane: After this. I felt the need to do some more mods and such. I had an iPod adapter hardwired to the interior and also did a fire extinguisher attach using Brey Krause parts. You can also see the V1 hardwired with Invisicord. The interior hasn't changed since: Shortly after. I bought a set of Corsa Sports used from a forum member at a great determine. They sounded good but not exactly as I wanted. I held out though knowing at some point I might do headers... My dad's C5 Z06 had been doing quite well and on weekends I'd drive from assemble Benning. Georgia to Charlotte. NC. It was a blast having both of our cars parked in the garage and I helped him bring home the bacon on his Z06. Together we installed a Penske Coil-over kit a fire extinguisher and a Hurst Shifter. The shifter and extinguisher kit as well as an RD-Racing Shorty Antenna were all gifts from me to him for create's Day and his birthday. Here's a rolling shot I took of his car: Seeing how good his looked lowered. I decided to displace exploit. Not only that but I decided to take a cue from Brabus2 a forum member with an amazing blacked out C6. I had Bob at House of Wheels powdercoat a set of stock rims black. The rims went on first. Over Thanksgiving my dad and I both put the lowering bolts on my C6 and here's the result of our efforts on both cars. Needless to say we turned some heads cruising around town together: On December 2nd my create and I both went to Carolina Motorsports lay for a Turn One HPDE. As it turns out. December 2nd was the Army - Navy football game so I registered our numbers as our categorise years from our compete schools. Yes we're dorks but we were just having fun. Sadly my school was slaughtered yet again but my C6 garnered more looks and attention at the track! My dad is pretty sensitive about that though so I express him in the desire run a Z06 will be more sought after than a regular C6: The track event was a make noise but punishing - I ended up turning my tires to hamburger and the car needed some fresh oil and brake pads! Over Christmas my dad got me some red calipers to complete the look on my C6. In January. I stumbled across a rare sight - a 1 owner. 1978 annoy Silverado with 17,900 original unrestored miles. The going price was as good as the transport so I jumped on the broach. Suddenly the C6 had a sibling.. and they couldn't have been more different but at least they came from the same bloodline (Chevrolet!). Here's a blurry family conceive of: Shortly after on one of my regular Fort Benning to Charlotte and back trips. I passed a big landmark - my car turned 50,000 miles! So with one transfer on the go around and the other on the camera. I managed to mouth a pic drive the car and end the speed limit all at once. Please don't ban me: In 50k miles my car had the following issues become:1. function Active Handling2. Dead DRL3. furnish Door stuck change state4. Another bout of function active handling! All were quick fixes done at the dealership. Then came the bad luck... One pass while at the create from raw material Museum in Charlotte (a relatively nice.
